In the ancient times, when the world was still young and the waters of the Earth had not yet been fully explored, the Asrai were born. These delicate and ethereal beings, guardians of lakes and rivers, were all female, their presence hidden from the eyes of humans and other creatures. The Asrai lived in harmony with nature, tending to the waters, nurturing the life within, and ensuring the balance between the elements.
But there was a prophecy, whispered among the oldest of the Asrai, that one day, a new kind of Asrai would be born—a male, whose existence would bring great change to their world. This prophecy was both revered and feared, for the Asrai had always known their kind to be exclusively female. The birth of a male Asrai would mark the beginning of a new era, one that could alter the course of their existence.
As the centuries passed, the prophecy remained just that—a whispered tale passed down through the generations. The Asrai continued to live their lives, unaware that the time of the prophecy was drawing near.
One night, under the light of a full moon, the waters of a secluded lake deep in an ancient forest began to stir. The lake, usually calm and serene, seemed to pulse with a mysterious energy. The trees surrounding it rustled as if whispering secrets to one another, and the creatures of the forest watched in awe as the water began to glow with a soft, ethereal light.
In the heart of the lake, the eldest of the Asrai, Selene, felt a powerful force calling to her. She had always been attuned to the energies of the water, and on this night, she sensed something extraordinary was about to happen. Selene, with her silver hair and eyes that gleamed like stars, emerged from the depths of the lake and floated on the surface, her gaze fixed on the moon above.
As she hovered there, the light from the moon seemed to intensify, and a beam of silver light descended from the sky, striking the water with a gentle ripple. Where the light touched the lake, the water began to swirl, forming a vortex that pulsed with life. Selene watched in awe, knowing that she was witnessing the fulfillment of the ancient prophecy.
From the center of the vortex, a shape began to emerge—a figure unlike any the Asrai had seen before. The water around the figure shimmered with a golden light, and as it took form, Selene realized that she was witnessing the birth of the first male Asrai.
The figure was tall and graceful, with features that mirrored the beauty of the Asrai. His hair was a deep shade of midnight blue, flowing like water, and his scales shimmered with a silver sheen that caught the moonlight. His eyes, however, were the most striking—bright and clear, like the surface of a pristine lake under the midday sun.
The newborn male Asrai, still surrounded by the glowing water, looked around with wonder in his eyes. He was both familiar and new, a reflection of the Asrai but with a strength and presence that set him apart. As he took his first breath of water, the lake seemed to exhale a sigh of relief, as if it had been waiting for this moment for eons.
Selene approached the newborn with a mixture of awe and reverence. She knew that this was the beginning of something new, something that would change the fate of the Asrai forever.
“Welcome,” she said softly, her voice echoing across the water. “You are the one we have been waiting for, the one foretold in the prophecy.”
The male Asrai looked at Selene, understanding her words even though he was new to the world. He felt a deep connection to the water, to the lake, and to the Asrai who surrounded him. He knew that he was different, but he also knew that he belonged.
“What is my name?” he asked, his voice resonating with a gentle strength.
Selene smiled, the light of the moon reflecting in her eyes. “You shall be called Thalasson, the first of your kind, born of the water and the light. You are both a guardian and a bridge between our world and the unknown.”
As the other Asrai emerged from the depths of the lake, they gathered around Thalasson, their eyes filled with wonder and acceptance. They could feel the change in the water, the beginning of a new era for their kind. Though they had always known themselves to be female, they understood that Thalasson’s presence was a sign that their world was evolving, growing in ways they had never imagined.
Over time, Thalasson became an integral part of the Asrai community. He brought with him new ideas, new strengths, and a balance that the Asrai had never known before. Under his guidance, the Asrai became stronger, more connected to the world around them. Thalasson’s birth marked the beginning of a new chapter in the history of the Asrai, one where both male and female would work together to protect the waters and ensure the balance of nature.
And so, the prophecy was fulfilled. Thalasson, the first male Asrai, became a symbol of unity and change, a beacon of hope for the future. The Asrai, now complete in their duality, continued their ancient role as guardians of the lakes and rivers, their world forever enriched by the birth of their first male.
