In the tranquil depths of the lake, where the sunlight filtered through the water in soft, dappled patterns, three Asrai—Virella, Aquathea, and Eirlys—were playing joyfully. The trio had been inseparable since they were young, each with her own unique charm. Virella, with her radiant golden hair and shimmering lavender tail, was the adventurous one. Aquathea, whose deep blue tail matched the color of the ocean’s depths, was wise beyond her years. Eirlys, the youngest, had a delicate silver tail that sparkled like moonlight, and she possessed a playful spirit that brought joy to everyone around her.
The day was perfect for their usual games, and the three swam through the clear water, weaving between the tall seagrass and chasing after schools of glittering fish. Laughter echoed through the lake as they played, their happiness blending with the serene beauty of their underwater home.
As they explored a part of the lake they hadn’t visited in a while, Eirlys suddenly paused, her silver tail flicking with excitement. “Look!” she exclaimed, pointing ahead to a spot where the light seemed to gather and shimmer more intensely.
Virella and Aquathea swam over, curiosity piqued. There, nestled between two large rocks, was something they had never seen before—a large, perfectly round bubble, floating serenely in the water. The bubble glowed with a soft, iridescent light, shifting colors as it drifted slowly in place.
“It’s beautiful,” Aquathea whispered, her voice filled with wonder. “But what is it?”
Virella, always the bold one, swam closer, her golden hair flowing behind her like a curtain of light. “I’ve never seen a bubble like this before,” she said, reaching out to touch it. But as her fingers brushed against the bubble’s surface, it didn’t pop as an ordinary bubble would. Instead, it shimmered more brightly, and a gentle pulse of energy flowed through the water, making the girls hearts skip a beat.
“This isn’t just any bubble,” Eirlys said, her eyes wide with awe. “It must be magical.”
The three exchanged excited glances. They had heard tales of mystical bubbles that appeared in the lake, said to be filled with ancient magic and capable of granting visions or revealing hidden secrets. But such bubbles were rare, and none of them had ever seen one before.
“What should we do?” Virella asked, her adventurous spirit eager to explore the bubble’s magic.
Aquathea thought for a moment. “We should be careful. But if this bubble has appeared to us, it must be for a reason.”
Eirlys, her playful nature always ready for a new experience, grinned. “Let’s see what happens when we all touch it together!”
With a mix of excitement and caution, the three mermaids reached out and placed their hands on the bubble’s smooth, shimmering surface. The moment they made contact, the bubble began to glow more intensely, enveloping them in a warm, soothing light.
Suddenly, the water around them began to shift and change. The lake’s familiar surroundings melted away, replaced by a vision of a vast underwater city made entirely of crystal. The city sparkled with a brilliance that rivaled the stars, its towers reaching up towards the surface, and its streets filled with the laughter and song of mermaids who looked just like them.
“This must be an ancient memory,” Aquathea whispered, her eyes wide with wonder. “A glimpse of the past, or perhaps a vision of a forgotten place.”
As they watched, the vision shifted again, showing the three of them swimming through the city’s streets, their laughter echoing through the crystal structures. The scene filled them with a sense of belonging, as if they were seeing a piece of their own history, long forgotten but still alive in the magic of the bubble.
The vision faded, and the mystical bubble gently released them, its glow dimming as it floated away. The lake returned to its usual serenity, but the three girls were left with a profound sense of wonder and connection to the ancient magic of their world.
“We’ve seen something incredible today,” Virella said softly, her adventurous spirit now tempered with a deeper understanding of the lake’s mysteries.
Aquathea nodded, her wise eyes reflecting the light of the now-distant bubble. “This is a reminder of the magic that exists in our world, waiting to be discovered.”
Eirlys, her playful nature still intact, but now with a new sense of wonder, grinned at her friends. “And I’m glad we discovered it together.”
With the vision still fresh in their minds, the three mermaids swam back to their home, their hearts filled with the knowledge that they were part of something ancient and magical. The mystical bubble had shown them a glimpse of a world beyond their own, a reminder that the lake they loved so dearly held secrets that would continue to inspire and enchant them for as long as they lived.
